Report illegal content
Reports about our hosting services
If you believe that content in our hosting services is illegal, you can report it using our reporting form or by emailing abuse@awesome-it.de. Please identify its exact location and explain why you consider it illegal. You do not need to be an awesome IT customer to submit a report.
Points of contact
Our central electronic point of contact for authorities under Article 11 DSA and for recipients of our services under Article 12 DSA is abuse@awesome-it.de. We handle enquiries in German and English. Responsible staff members handle your enquiry. Our contact page provides additional ways to contact us.
Other ways to contact usInformation to include
Please provide the exact URL or other details that allow us to locate the reported content. You can include more than one URL. Describe the circumstances and explain the reason for your report. Please also provide your name and email address and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information and allegations in your report are accurate and complete. For reports concerning suspected offences referred to in Articles 3–7 of Directive 2011/93/EU, including child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation, you may omit your name and email address. Without an email address, we cannot send individual questions or notifications by email.
How we handle your report
Reports submitted through the form receive a reference number. If you provide an email address, we send an acknowledgement without undue delay. We check whether the report concerns our services, assess the circumstances and determine its urgency. We ask for missing information where necessary. Where appropriate, we give the affected customer an opportunity to explain the circumstances or remove the reported content. We make decisions in a diligent, objective and proportionate manner. Depending on the circumstances and within applicable law and our agreed terms, we may disable access to content, remove content or restrict the provision of a service. We take the rights and legitimate interests of all parties into account. Where expeditious action is necessary, we do not wait for a standard customer response period to expire. We notify you of our decision and the available means of redress. Affected customers receive a separate statement of reasons for restrictions covered by the DSA. A report does not automatically result in a restriction.
Terms and automated processing
Our service-specific terms govern contractual restrictions. Automated intake processing, technical abuse prevention and acknowledgements support the reporting procedure. Staff members assess the reported content and decide on any measures. Article 8 DSA does not impose a general obligation to monitor all stored content. Specific legal obligations remain unaffected.
Review and means of redress
If you disagree with a decision or have additional information, email abuse@awesome-it.de and include your reference number. We will review your enquiry. Judicial remedies remain available. Eligible recipients of services may complain about a suspected breach of DSA obligations to the Digital Services Coordinator in the Member State where they are located or established. In Germany, this is the Digital Services Coordinator at the Federal Network Agency.
Privacy
The “Reports of Illegal Content and Abuse” section of our privacy policy explains how we process reports, potential recipients and retention. Please provide only information needed to assess the report and do not send passwords or files containing suspected illegal content.
